התקליט הוא דגמה לסאונד אגרסיבי, פיזי ומוחשי בו הכוח הופך למוסיקה בעזרת סינטסייזרים ומכונות תופים. אריק מתאר את גישתו המעוררת השראה לעשיית מוסיקה: "בדרך כלל אני לוקח הקלטת רקע - פרסומות טלויזיה מתערבבות או כל דבר אחר - רק כדי ליצור תשתית מרגשת. על זה אני מאלתר".י
אריק יצר אווירת מתח בכל הופעה הודות להיותו פרפורמר אקסצנטרי. לכל הופעה שלו הייתה טקיטיקה דומה: בתחילתה הוא כיבה את האורות, אז סובב את הגב והתחיל לנגן בזמן שהקהל נשאר עם תחושה מוזרה של איך לעזאזל מישהוא העז לעשות זאת
בתור גורו סינטסייזרים נלהב אריק הצטרף ללהקה הליווי של ניקו בכל ההופעות המדהימות שלה. אריק לקח חלק ברוב האלבומי לייב של ניקו

Our next feature is about rather extraordinary musician from Manchester. His name is Eric Random. His started out as a part of the Buzzcocks’ road crew and later became one of leading artists of their New Hormones label, releasing 2 EPs and 1 album at the beginning of the 80s.
His debut EP “That’s What I Like About Me” was produced by Cabaret Voltaire. The record itself is an example of a palpable aggressive physical sound, using a lot of repetition based on basic synthesizers and drum machines. Eric describes his approach on making music back in the day which one might find pretty inspiring “Usually I would just start by making a backing tape, which could be anything – like mixing in TV adverts – just to create a moving texture. And then I’d just improvise over it.”
Being an eccentric performer on stage, Eric created an extremely tense atmosphere at the events. His regular performance tactic was to turn all the lights off and than to turn his back to the audience and just to get on playing, leaving audience in a peculiar feeling of how somebody had the nerve to do that.
As a synthesizer guru and pure enthusiast, Eric Random joined the band supporting Nico during her astonishing concert affairs. Eric took part in the recording of the most of Nico’s live albums. I think “Behind The Iron Curtain” is the most intense and emotionally impellent of her live albums. The first track of the album named “All Saints Might From A Polish Way” is a great example of the efficient synthesizer work by Eric.
In an interview Eric Random did some years ago he gave a very basic insight concerning his art which is fairly important. “The main thing was about abusing the equipment and affecting people in the audience physically”.
